Black Gram

Black gram, AKA Whole Urad, is a type of lentils that is grown in Southern Asia. It is commonly used in Indian cooking to make various dal (lentil) dishes.
One cup of cooked Urad lentils, which is about 45 grams, contains 30 g of carbohydrates, 10 g of fiber, 13 g of proteins, and 0.5 g of fat.
Such nutritional value makes these lentils an excellent source of protein, fiber and, iron. It also makes it a fat free source of proteins!
