Crock-Pot Beef Stew

2 potatoes, peeled and diced

1 lb beef cubes

1.5 cups frozen carrot rounds

1 cup frozen peas

1.5 cup water

2 Tbsp vegetable oil

2 Tbsp tomato paste

2 Tbsp minced garlic

Spices: 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 3 cardamom wholes, 3 cloves, 1/2 cinnamon stick, 2 bay leaves. Pinch of saffron
