Lime Garlic Green Beans

Green beans are a power source of vitamin C and fiber! They are low in carbohydrates and their high fiber content helps keep you full for longer! In this recipe I used whole garlic cloves to add a hint of garlic flavor instead of the strong taste when crushing them. I also like to steam my veggies as it is the best way to cook vegetables without reducing their nutritional content.

ingredients

4 cups green beans

2 garlic cloves peeled

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

2 cups water

steps

  1. In a pot add water and let it boil

  2. place beans in the streamer NOT DIRECTLY into water, and place streamer on pot

  3. cover and let is cook for about 3 minutes or untill beans start to get tender

  4. when almost cooked remove from heat

  5. in a pan add olive oil and heat on medium flame, add beans, lemon juice and whole garlic cloves

  6. sauté for about 4 minutes or until beans are fully cooked

  7. Season with salt & pepper
