Paneer Tikka Masala

Paneer Tikka Masala is a perfect dish for someone who is looking for a thick, creamy, fulfilling, and a flavorful meatless dish.

Ingredients:

6 oz paneer

2 medium size tomatoes

1 medium size onion 

1/2 cup peas

Fresh coriander leaves 

fenugreek leaves (Kasoori Methi)

1 - 2 tsp Sugar or as needed 

1 tbsp ghee or butter + 1 tbsp vegetable oil

8 oz Tomato sauce

1/4 cup Cooking cream

splash of water if needed

Marinade spices:

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp fenugreek powder  

1 tbs Ginger garlic paste 

1 tsp Garam masala + 1/2 tsp

1/2 tsp Chili powder (omit if prefer mild)

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp Salt 


Steps:

  1. Cut the paneer into 2 inch cubes and marinate it for half an hour by adding marinade spices

  2. Chop tomatoes and onions onto medium sized cubes

  3. In a heavy bottom pot heat 1 tbsp of ghee and 3/4 tbsp oil on medium heat

  4. Fry the onions till they are golden then add the tomatoes and fry till the tomatoes melt and it all becomes mushy

  5. Add 2 teaspoons of sugar and 1 can of tomato sauce, mix and Turn off heat

  6. Transfer to a blender and mix until you get a nice orange smooth paste

  7. Add 1 tsp oil in the same pot and Sauté the paneer on medium high heat till nice and grilled on Both sides

  8. Add the mushy orange mixture along with cooking cream, peas, and some more butter, sugar, Salt, 1/2 tsp garam masala (if needed)

  9. Simmer on medium flame till thickened for about 5 minutes

  10. Add fenugreek leaves and chopped coriander leaves for garnish
