Pineapple Teriyaki Glazed Meatballs

This dish combines some of the best notes of sweet, sour, and even Umami flavors all in one bite! 

I like to use fresh cut pineapples to enhance the sweetness of this dish. Broccoli florets are a perfect pair and a nutrient booster for this recipe! 

Ingredients

For the meatballs 

1 lbs lean ground beef

1/3 cup bread crumbs 

1 egg 

3/4 tsp salt 

1/4 tsp black pepper 

1/4 tsp white pepper 

1 tsp paprika 

1/2 tsp coriander powder 

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 

Sesame seeds for garnish 

1/4 cup pineapples cut into small chunks 

For the sauce

1 tsp sesame oil 

1/2 cup water 

1/4 cup brown sugar 

1 tsp ginger garlic paste 

1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce 

1 tsp Sriracha (hot sauce) optional *  

1 tbsp corn starch mixed in 2 tbsp water

Steps

  1. Mix meat ingredients, and form into medium sized balls 

  2. Place on a baking tray and bake on 350 F for 23 minutes 

  3. Meanwhile, combine sauce ingredients in a sauce pan (excerpt corn starch) and mix till well combined

  4. Let the sauce simmer and then add the cornstarch mixture

  5. Add pineapples, Mix well then turn off heat 

  6. Transfer meatballs once cooked Into the sauce, gently mix 

  7. Garnish with sesame seeds
